🐞 Fixed "Name" field bug
📝 TLDR
We fixed a bug that stopped users from setting up a base if they didn't have a field literally named "Name" in Webflow. Now you can name your Webflow fields whatever you like.

Base editing is (finally) here! We also updated our Docs to make onboarding easier.
We’re excited to finally offer base editing! You can now change previously configured syncs instead of starting from scratch. Add or remove tables and fields to your previously configured base.
Check it out at → docs.whalesync.com. Now includes tutorials and guides. We’ll be continuously updating this as the product evolves.
Key information pulled to the top of the details page (connector, times, impacted record). Added a contact link. More accurately named the second column.
Added a button in the setup flow that lets you refresh tables/fields. Refresh will grab the latest tables/fields from Airtable and Webflow. Helpful if you’ve made changes to either app while in the middle of the setup flow
If you resolved an issue while you were on the details page, the page would show an error. Now that doesn’t happen.
Our high-level objective remains the same: improve self-serve! Over the next few cycles, we’re adding features that should make Whalesync easier to use on your own (if you choose). Look out for connection editing, Airtable view sync, and more.
We added an Issues Page that shows any errors impacting your sync, added support for Airtable Lookup fields, and fixed a lot of bugs.
You can now use Airtable Lookup fields as part of a sync. Like Formula fields, Lookup fields can be mapped to a variety of different Webflow fields. See our Docs for a full list of supported fields.
In the past, we required you to map a Slug field in order to set up a sync. You can now skip the Slug field and Webflow will auto-generate one for you.
Fixed the Calendar link on the Contact Us page
The calendar link on our Contact Us page was broken. If you tried to sync two tables with multi-reference fields that referenced each other it wouldn’t work. Now it does.
Greater than 9 bases would overflow the footer
If you had more than 9 Whalesync bases, it would look strange on the frontend. Now you can have as many bases as you want.
Require primary key
Previously we would let you create a sync without mapping the primary key (often the Name field). This would guarantee a bad sync since Webflow requires a primary key. Now that’s not possible.
Starting with the Issues Page, we’re making a big push towards self-serve. We’ll always be available to jump in, but want to give everyone the tools to use Whalesync on their own if they prefer. This includes features like base editing, API key editing, and issue notifications. Additionally, we’ll enable 2-way sync soon, so changes in Webflow sync back to Airtable.
We launched an overhauled sync engine that makes syncing wayy faster and more reliable.
